| Amy Collins, MT, incorporates a variety of techniques tailored to the needs of each client. Swedish technique is the basic framework, and Amy treats problem areas using neuromuscular and myofascial release and assisted stretching as appropriate. She also has training in Reiki and Touch for Health and may incorporate some muscle energy techniques as needed. She can accommodate clients who prefer light, moderate or deep pressure and requests clients to interact with feedback to properly gauge their tolerance.
Amy creates a relaxing atmosphere in her home based studio where clients can escape the stress and worries of their day-to-day demands. She creates a soothing environment with music, soft lighting and, if desired, candles and a fountain. The table is cushioned with a faux fleece cover and, in the winter, the table is warmed with a heated mattress pad. There are cats who reside in the home, so if you have allergies, you may want to take allergy medication in advance of your appointment. The cats are not permitted in the treatment room. It is necessary to descend some stairs to access the treatment room. The steps are wide, and there is a solid banister for support.
Clients are appropriately draped with a sheet during sessions to preserve modesty and warmth, and only areas being treated are uncovered. Clients may choose to disrobe completely or to keep on underpants, boxers etc. Clients may be assured that a professional approach is maintained at all times during the session. Clients are asked to complete a client intake form and disclose all relevant medical history. To download and print a copy of the intake form, click here. | |
